Privacy Policy
1. Provider information
This website and the OptiDesign web platform are operated by OptiDesign ehf., Reykjavik, Iceland. Contact for every privacy question, including access, correction and deletion requests: support@optidesign.io.
2. Visitor statistics (only with your consent)
We count visits ourselves, on our own servers. No analytics company sees your visit. This section follows the consent card on this website and on the web platform. The card says:
Can we count your visit?
We count visits (country, city, pages read and basic device details) with a random ID kept on your device for about 13 months and sent only to our own server. It helps us improve our products. We will not turn it on until you accept.
| Accept all | Accept only necessary | Close with X | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Random ID kept on your device | Yes, about 13 months | No | No |
| The page you open | Yes | Yes, each page on its own | No |
| Your country and city | Yes | Yes | No |
| Where you came from | Yes | No | No |
| Language, time zone, screen size, device and browser type | Yes | No | No |
| Your IP address | Not saved | Not saved | Not sent |
To change your choice later, see how to change or withdraw your choice below.
If you press “Accept all”
We keep a random ID on your device for about 13 months, so we can tell new visitors from returning ones. With each page you open, your browser sends our own server the page, where you came from, your language, time zone, screen size, device and browser type, and we work out your country and city. We never save your IP address. The ID is stored scrambled on our server. Statistics are never linked to your account, your email address or your name.
If you press “Accept only necessary”
We count the page you open and your country and city. No ID is kept, so we cannot tell who came back, and nothing is stored on your device except your choice. The card’s sentence about a random ID describes “Accept all”. You can object at any time at support@optidesign.io.
If you close the card with the X
The X counts as refusing. Nothing is counted, and only your choice is remembered. Not answering the card has the same effect.
What happens before you choose
Nothing is stored and nothing is sent until you choose on the card.
How to change or withdraw your choice
Click “Cookie settings” (website footer and this page, and on the web platform in the sign-in screen and in Settings). The card opens again. Press the choice you want: that is two clicks, and refusing is as easy as accepting. If you leave “Accept all”, we delete the random ID in your browser and the visits stored under it on our server. Withdrawing does not affect anything done before.
Privacy signals and automated visitors
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we do not show the card to a new visitor and we count nothing, even if you accepted earlier. Search engines and monitoring tools are recognised and not counted.
How long we keep it
Visits are deleted automatically after 13 months. The random ID stays on your device for about 13 months. Your choice is remembered for 12 months, or until the card text changes, and then we ask again. Your IP address is held in the server’s memory for a short time only, to limit abuse, and is then gone. We collect nothing from people who close the card with the X and only a bare page count from people who choose “Accept only necessary”, so our figures understate real traffic.
3. Applying for the beta and creating an account
When you apply or register we process the details you enter (name, email, phone, company, job role and the product you are interested in) to create your account, verify your email, send you the Revit add-in and access to the web platform, and contact you about onboarding. Legal basis: performing the steps you ask for before and under a user agreement, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Signed-in sessions use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you logged in and need no consent.
4. Other companies that receive your data when you visit
Nothing is loaded from other companies when a page opens. The providers below receive your IP address only in the situations named, which is unrelated to the statistics choice above.
- Calendly, only after you press “Load booking calendar” on the meeting section. Fonts and the 3D library are served from this website, so no other company is contacted when a page loads.
- Microsoft Azure hosts our servers and database; Hostinger hosts this static website.
5. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw any consent at any time, by emailing support@optidesign.io. You may also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one responsible for our registered seat.
6. Legal basis
- Visitor statistics with “Accept all”: your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, and section 25(1) TDDDG for storing and reading information on your device.
- Visitor statistics with “Accept only necessary”: our legitimate interest in knowing how many people use the site, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Nothing is stored on or read from your device.
- Applying and creating an account: performing the steps you ask for, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
